Poverty Simulation

October 23

Poverty isn’t an abstract concept for many of our neighbors – it’s a complicated situation that can include being overwhelmed by a lack of stable resources and having to make impossible choices (should I pay rent, buy groceries, or fill a prescription). This fall, experience a Poverty Simulation which, over the course of one morning, forces you to imagine living out a month of making these choices and utilizing the resources you’re given. This will give you perspective and empathy that may otherwise be unimaginable.

Join us on Friday, October 23, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 W Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, PA 19382.

There are two ways to be part of it:

  • Register as a participant: Take on the role of someone navigating a month in the life of a family stretched thin. It’s an immersive, eye-opening experience that shapes how you show up for the people we serve. Register here: https://tinyurl.com/chesco-povsim
  • Sign up as a volunteer: Help bring the simulation to life from behind the scenes. Volunteers consistently tell us that the experience is just as powerful as participating. Register here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/vSduNYSc31

Attendance is free, but registration is required for both roles.
