Spotlight On Our Partner The Sparrow Fund October 1, 2025 Introducing our Partner: The Sparrow Fund In 2010, when Chester County residents Mark and Kelly Raudenbush adopted their daughter, a toddler born with a heart defect and diagnosed as failure to thrive, they discovered a gap in care for families like theirs. One year later, they cofounded The Sparrow Fund with the specific desire to close that gap in care and help families like their own navigate the effects of early childhood trauma so that vulnerable foster and adoptive families could not just survive, but be best set up to thrive. Through their Sparrow Family Care Grant program, Sparrow Family Services, and Together Called retreats and other events, they provide opportunities for families in every season of adoption to more deeply experience relationships so that they are best able to heal and grow together. The Sun East Foundation awarded The Sparrow Fund a grant last year to provide Carry-Over Kits for five families. These kits include all sorts of goodies and supplies used in therapeutic sessions with families that they can take home with them so that families can carry the work over into their everyday interactions at home. After all, the most impactful therapeutic work happens there—at home, at the dinner table, in the car, before bed, etc. “We can only do what we do to care for foster and adopted children and their families with the help of others. We are so happy to have the Sun East Foundation Family among those helpers. The grant they awarded to us allowed us to serve five families in deeper ways. And, their encouragement and cheerleading fills us up to keep going!” -Kelly Raudenbush, Executive Director, Child + Family Therapist Sun East Foundation NewsYou can support Sun East Foundation by purchasing a Boscov’s Friends HelpingFriends shopping pass!Event Date: October 22, 2025 from 8am – 11pm For a donation of $5 to Sun East Foundation, you receive a shopping pass for 25% off, valid online and in-store for the event date. Please email Terri Lannon at tlannon@suneast.org if you’d like to get a shopping pass.To date, the Sun East Foundation has given away over $654,000 to over 235 organizations since we started in 2011.New Partners of Sun East FoundationThe Mill at Anselma Preservation & Educational Trust, Inc.Dawn’s PlaceCoatesville Area Public LibraryPlayers Philanthropy ClubEDGE for TomorrowCater 2 You Youth HavenSenior Community ServicesNational Alliance on Mental Illness Delaware (NAMI) Ways you can help Visit a Sun East branch and conveniently donate by asking a staff member to transfer your donation from your specified share account Make a donation online at suneastfoundation.org/donate Donate through Online Banking by selecting the “Additional Services” tab or through the Mobile App by selecting “More” and choosing “Support our Foundation” from the dropdown list Help us help those in need in our communities by joining the Foundation for a one-time membership donation of $10 for individuals or $30 for businesses Mail a check donation to: Sun East Foundation, PO Box 2231, Aston, PA 19014 Designate your Sun East credit card points to Sun East Foundation Support the Foundation through online purchases via Givebacks, a magical new cashback program.
