Heather, a Member Service Rep in Sun East’s Aston branch, represented Sun East volunteering at The Barn at Spring Brook Farm, which provides animal-assisted and nature-based programs for children with physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities. She was paired with two very special teens. “For the first hour, my new friends and I fed the animals, played tic, tac, toe, and played with a mailbox by dressing it up with a hat and glasses. The next hour I was paired with a teenage boy whose favorite animals are the goats. After feeding the goats, he hugged every one, well except Huck because Huck is not tall enough to be hugged over the gate. At The Barn, not only do you get to see how to take care of the barn animals, but the children/teens that you are with really impact you.”
