The Sun East Foundation has named Jeannine Anckaitis as the successor to retiring Executive Director, Terri Lannon.

Terri has served in multiple professional capacities at Sun East during her 29 years of service, showing great dedication to the credit union philosophy of People Helping People. She has led the Sun East Foundation as Executive Director since 2020.  Under Terri’s leadership, the Sun East Foundation’s funding of qualified area non-profits has exceeded $775,000 and has benefitted over 295 organizations.

Jeannine Anckaitis will step into the role on July 3, having joined Sun East Federal Credit Union as Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility in August 2025. Previously, she was Executive Director for Youth Development United (formerly known as Chester Upland Youth Soccer.) She now serves as the Chairperson for that organization’s Board and is also an active member in the Project W giving circle and on the Scott Arboretum Education Committee. She has also been a regular volunteer with St. Katharine Drexel Food Pantry, the Swarthmore Public Library, Chester Charter Scholars’ Academy and Cradles to Crayons, and was a founding member of Chester’s Mentoring Initiative. When asked about taking on this new position, Jeannine responded, “I am excited to carry on the impressive legacies of Terri Lannon and her predecessor, Denise Romanelli, who built the Foundation to help improve life in the Greater Brandywine Valley. Terri has done a remarkable job expanding the organization’s impact through fundraising, grantmaking, volunteerism leadership, thoughtful recognition of deserving students and educators, and other generous and meaningful outreach efforts. I look forward to continuing this important work and helping to further Sun East’s support of the community.”
