DMAX Foundation was founded by Laurie and Lee Maxwell in response to the loss of their son, Dan, to suicide in 2013. The name “DMAX” stems from Dan’s high school nickname. Despite their heartbreak, the Maxwells vowed to turn Dan’s tragic journey toward helping countless other families and young people who suffer in silence. Dan’s gift will be to inspire our communities to support and embrace those in need so that no one will bear their pain, confusion, and uncertainty alone and in silence.
